DaWanda Backstage

  the DaWanda blog.

DaWanda, Dads and Developments!

We are delighted to see a growing community of artists and designers from so many different corners of the world taking part in the DaWanda platform. It has truly become a cross cultural marketplace, with new members joining from countries all across Europe, and certainly further afield – the US, Australia and Singapore to name a few. It is fantastic to see the beautiful hand-crafted work coming from this diverse range of people. We also recently launched the French version of the DaWanda website, c’est magnifique! Browse the categories of products from our French members and indulge yourself in some French culture, without the frogs legs.

I love this quirky silk-screened brooch by Zabelou

And the selection of pins from Mariondeluxe, like this “My Fridge is a Rock Star” gem!

Also today I would like to update you on some newly added features that we have on DaWanda !

We have recently developed some helpful tools for our members on DaWanda. There is now a special holiday setting (in the “Edit Shop” section of your profile) which lets you indicate the dates you will be away if you are taking some time off. This is a great way to let your customers know that their order will be looked after once you get back.

You will also see in “Edit Shop” that you can now enter your Paypal address! This means that as a seller you will no longer have to email your customers your paypal information, it will be automatic. If Paypal is your preferred method of payment, it would be great if you fill in your Paypal address information and we will be put the automatic notification process into place very soon!

With Father’s Day coming up soon, we would like to invite you to create a product which is especially suited for men. List your item with the tag “Dad”, and it is automatically entered in our special Father’s Day competition. Members on DaWanda can vote for their favourite “great gift for a great dad”, and the product with the most votes will win a voucher of up to 50€ to spend in any DaWanda store. Join in the competition here!

The DaWanda group on Flickr is a great place where you can show off the items you are selling on DaWanda, and also check out the beautiful products from other DaWanda members. If you are showcasing items, make sure you add a link to your DaWanda store, so people can find out where they can purchase from you! There are nearly 1,000 members in the DaWanda flickr group at the moment!

I’m here for you, so if there is a question you need answered, some help or advice, please do get in touch. We also appreciate your feedback very much, so feel free to let us know your thoughts and ideas. Drop me a line at my email, Elizabeth [at] Dawanda [dot] com.

That’s all for now, all the best for the rest of the week!
