decorette is a design shop on DaWanda run by Amanda in Melbourne, specialising in beautiful wall decals with sweet motifs. decorette is all about making your home pretty with unique and unusual decor for your walls! We posed a few questions to Amanda for a little insight into decorette, check out her interview below!

Where do you find inspiration for your decorette ideas?

Mostly from things that surround me, nature and living objects are so great because when they’re on your walls, it’s like they bring life into your homes! I create designs that I think will liven up any space and make it more happy to live in!

Wall decals are a fairly new trend on this side of the atlantic, can you explain for anyone who may not know about them yet?

Decorette is our line of wall decal designs specially cut and hand finished from ultra thin, high quality matte vinyl. This vinyl has a low tack removable adhesive, allowing the decals to be stuck onto any flat surface and removed without leaving any sticky residue or harm to most surfaces. It’s a fantastic alternative to wallpaper and paint, they are so quick and easy to apply – simply choose your space, then peel and stick to create instant art designs without the hassle of paint, tools or mess. Plus, decorettes are completely removable so when you’re ready for a change, simply peel off and start again!

Do you have a favourite artist or designer that you follow?

I don’t follow any designer in particular but I have to say I love Amy Butler fabrics! I like the vintage/modern/retro mix in her designs.

What’s your favourite tv show / book / song at the moment?

I haven’t had the time lately but my sister has just lent me a book called “The Curious Incident Of The Dog At Night-Time” and also the movie “Across The Universe” (I hear Jim Sturgess is absolutely charming in that movie) so I hope to get stuck into these when I get a chance!
