DaWanda is the best joint in town…!

Recently I came across an item on our DaWanda that I just had to have. A tote bag with Dr Dre’s face on it. I couldn’t stop there though, when I saw Kanye glaring at me from another listing in the same shop, M4a. It was a notion, an impulse buy, a reckless purchase fuelled by my addiction for tote bags (Ok hands up who else, I’m sure I’m not the only one!) And, it was a German listing. I read the title “Tüte mit hip hop” and from the preview picture thought to myself – Fun! A tote bag with Dr Dre on it! I actually haven’t seen that anywhere. (In case you’re not familiar with German, “tüte” does mean “bag” in German…but it also has another meaning as I found out today!)
So this morning I picked up my very carefully wrapped parcel, and wondered why the tote bags would be so carefully wrapped..hmmm. Slitting open the sellotape and opening the cardboard I found not tote bags, but two handsized stencil prints inside..and there seemed to be a faux-joint attached to each one. I realised straight away I had obviously misunderstood some vital information in the listing:

Me and my new piece of pop art
So I learned some new German vocabulary today, let me share it with you : ) Tüte also happens to be the slang word for “joint”, I was reliably informed by the giggling German DaWanda team today. The listing does clearly explain what the products are, my German slang just wasn’t up to scratch!
The prints were a great hit in the office, and Axel already snaffled one for himself. It’s all part and parcel (literally!) of the amazing DaWanda community, which reaches far and wide across the globe and brings together so many different nationalities!
So how about it M4a, will you be starting a new line of tote bags anytime soon? ; )

never mind, I have a lot of totes for you at my Dawanda shop! (limabaum) :)
unfortunately, none with Dr.Dre´s face on it, and I do not know how to draw very well, otherwise… but they are huge, my totes, and very strong (little “verbum”, another german word for you!)
I also have an addiction for tote bags, both hands on the air \o/
have a good time there with allll your joints ;)
