Is my Spanish up to scratch? Nevermind, I’m sure you get the gist… Happy Cinco de Mayo, guys! For those of you not so familiar with the holiday, Cinco de Mayo (Spanish for ‘May 5th’) is a day of celebration in Mexico, commemorating the Mexican army’s unlikely defeat of French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. Thanks Wikipedia, for helping me learning one new thing each day :-)
Cinco de Mayo is also a celebration of all things Mexican, and the country’s gorgeous, rich culture. The motifs of Mexicana are fabulous for design inspiration, and a quick search through DaWanda helped me find some really lovely bits of Mexican-inspired goodness, like this pretty pair of earrings from Tizzalicious
PIVCAT’s Mexican ‘Luchadores’ (wrestlers) are also perfect DIY gifts or decorations. The toughest paper fighters I’ve ever seen!
Plus, who could forget the tasty, tasty goodness that is Mexican cuisine?
While food in your hair isn’t always a good look, AlwaysAmy shows how to work it to your advantage:
And I couldn’t write a blog post about Mexican-themed goodness on DaWanda without mentioning the gorgeous artwork of Lunara, who has a whole host of beautifully painted items with a Latin touch in her shop, like this keychain:
Have a great Cinco de Mayo!
xoxo Azra
