Christmas is getting closer and closer, and personally, we can’t wait! How are your preparations coming along? Have you been crafting yourself some cool Christmas deco? Like maybe stars from coloured paper, funky tree ornaments or table centerpieces made of repurposed toilet rolls? Then you’re going to like the sound of this blog post! We’re on the search for the awesomest festive items and deco made from recycled materials. It doesn’t matter if you use old curtains or newspaper, cereal boxes or old clothes, in whole or in part – let your imagination run wild! The main thing is that your creation should be at least partially made of recycled materials, and should be made by YOU. To find out how to take part and WIN amazing prizes, just keep on reading!
- Send them in: You have until December 13th to send us photos of your recycled Christmas creations. Please send your photos via email to Azra at azra@dawanda.com, and be sure to include your DaWanda username and/or shop address. By the way, to us ‘recycled’ means re-using materials which previously had another purpose.
- Collect ‘Likes’: From December 14th you’ll be able to see all participating photos in an album on the DaWanda Facebook Fanpage. Then it’s up to you to motivate your friends, family and entourage to give your competition entry a ‘Like’! The photo with the most ‘Likes’ will win the competition. You are welcome to submit as many entries as you like.
- What can you win? 1st Prize is a DaWanda shopping voucher worth 100 Euros. 2nd Prize is a DaWanda voucher worth 75 Euros, and 3rd Prize is a DaWanda voucher worth 50 Euros.
- Share: Have you taken part in the competition, and want to tell the whole world about it? Then feel free to use our graphic on your website or blog to promote it! Just right click on it and click ‘Save Image As…’ to get your own copy.
Terms and Conditions in Detail:
The competition will take place from 01.12.2010 until 20.12.2010 (Midnight CET). To participate in the competition, you need to send a photo of a Christmas-themed deco object made using recycled materials to azra@dawanda.com, by Monday December 13th 2010. It’s possible to send more than one entry. By entering the competition, you confirm that your are the designer of the object in question. If your item is found to be in violation of any existing copyright, DaWanda can remove your entry from the competition and also remove it from publication.
All photos will be made public on the DaWanda Facebook Fanpage from Tuesday, December 14th 2010. You have until December 20th 2010 to gather as many votes (‘Likes’) as possible. The three photos with the most Facebook ‘Likes’ will receive the following prizes: The winner will receive a DaWanda shopping voucher worth 100 Euros, 2nd Place will receive a DaWanda voucher for 75 Euros, and third place will receive a DaWanda voucher for 50 Euros. If two photos have the same number of likes at the end of the competition, lots will be drawn to decide the winner. No cash alternative can be offered for the prizes. The competition is taking place on all three DaWanda platforms: German, French and English.
Designs which have been sent in will be displayed on the DaWanda Blog and the DaWanda Facebook Fanpage. No legal recourse is permitted. Participants in the competition must be registered at DaWanda.com. Employees of DaWanda and its partner firms are not permitted to enter the competition, nor are the family members of these employees. If for any reason a winner is not able to accept their prize, we cannot guarantee that an alternative prize will be offered. The winner will be informed via email within 7 days of the end of the competition, and will be asked for the necessary contact info. The winner must respond within the time period indicated in this email, in order to receive their prize.
We will confirm the receipt of their mail within 2 days. Agreeing to our Terms & Conditions of Participation is mandatory for entering the competition. Each participant agrees that the personal information which they provide to us may be stored and processed in connection to the competition, and in accordance with our data protection regulations. These conform strictly to European Union legislation regarding data protection. We take no responsibility for emails which are not delivered, or which arrive late. We reserve the right to interrupt, discontinue and/or change this competition and/or its rules at any time.

I’m SOOOO excited about this contest because every single item I make (over 200 at present) is ALL from Recycled and Salvaged materials…and it’s SO important to help save our environment, our countryside, to “go green”, and , let’s not forget PROTECTING THE HISTORY AND TRADITIONS as well as PROMOTING THE ARTS.
